The customer sent us a PCB board and directly mentioned that the main chip had software encryption. Before contacting us, we informed them that testing was required, and the customer promptly sent a mainboard. At that time, we didn't know its specific application and didn't inquire further. It was only after successfully decrypting the chip that the customer revealed it was for medical blood testing.

In our line of work, we mostly deal with boards, and it's challenging to discern their specific applications.

Our engineers analyzed the chip and estimated around 90% certainty about the decryption success. We called the customer and honestly conveyed that the decryption had no issues, while the success rate for breaking the software encryption was around 90%. The customer appreciated our straightforwardness, and we proceeded to sign the contract. They paid the deposit, and we began our work. For the STM32F103 chip, some customers might find our 90% certainty amusing as they believe it's too hasty to assess the success rate without fully decrypting the program. Our judgment is based on our previous successful experiences. Our engineers spent four days to successfully decrypt the chip, followed by decompilation and reading the program for modifications.

Breaking the software encryption took a bit longer, about half a month. We sent sample chips to the customer for testing on the original machine, but it didn't work. Our engineers made further adjustments, which were quicker this time, and we sent the revised samples to the customer three days later. The great news came that the customer's tests were successful. After 20 days, we finally resolved the customer's previous unresolved problem. The customer was still cautious, so we sent three additional samples for testing, and each one passed successfully. They promptly paid the final payment, and the cooperation was pleasant throughout.
