Power Line Communication Modem PCB

Power Line Communication Modem, commonly known as "电力猫" in Chinese, is a modem used for broadband internet access through power lines. It enables the establishment of a network using existing power lines and sockets in homes or offices to connect devices such as PCs, ADSL modems, set-top boxes, audio equipment, monitoring devices, and other smart electrical appliances for data, voice, and video transmission. It offers a plug-and-play feature and can transmit IP digital signals through regular household power lines.

Shenzhen Dongdao Technology specializes in services such as double-sided and multilayer PCB copying, chip decryption, PCB production, prototype production (cloning), and secondary development from the customer's perspective to meet various needs and become a leading player in the industry. Over the years, Dongdao Technology has received widespread praise from customers due to its strong research and development capabilities and outstanding creativity incorporated into cloning.

Basic Principles:

During transmission, modulation technology is used to modulate user data and embed high-frequency signals carrying information onto the electric current for transmission over power lines. At the receiving end, the modulated signal is extracted through a filter, and then demodulated to retrieve the original communication signal, which is then sent to computers or phones to achieve information transfer. The PLC device includes a substation end and a modem. The substation is responsible for communicating with internal PLC modems and connecting to external networks. During communication, user data enters the modem and is modulated, then transmitted through the user's power distribution lines to the substation equipment. The substation then demodulates the signal and transfers it to the external internet.

Specifically, the design idea of the power line carrier bidirectional transmission module includes a transmission module consisting of a modem, oscillator, power amplifier, T/R switching, coupling circuit, and demodulator. The oscillator provides a carrier signal for the modem. When transmitting data, the pre-modulated signal is sent from the TXD end, modulated by the modem, then amplified by the power amplifier, and finally loaded onto the power line through the T/R switching and coupling circuit. When receiving data, the pre-modulated signal sent from the transmission module enters the demodulator through the coupling circuit and T/R switching. The demodulator extracts the original signal, which is then sent to the next level of digital devices from the RXD end.
